Designation
of Origin Rías Baixas.
The start of Autumn, outono in Galician, sees the collection
of the small Albariña grape and the start of the handcrafted
processes that decide on the result of this exceptional wine.
Type of wine: Young white. Monovariety.
Location of the vineyards: The birthplace of this wine, Ribadumia,
lies in the Valley of El Salnés, an area in the Galician
province of Pontevedra, located in north-west Spain.
The land: The topography is flat with shallow, sandy earth
that is slightly acidic. The climate is typically Atlantic with
a generous rainfall and hours of sun similar to Mediterranean areas,
with mild temperatures due to the presence of the sea.
The grape: 100% Albariño. Albariña is a small,
round grape that gives off a small amount of juice, which is where
its secret lies: in the concentration, density and high value given
to the end product. As wine, it gives off a range of subtle and
fragile aromas of fresh, recently peeled fruit, often accompanied
by a certain amount of acidity. It is fully hand-collected and produced.
Alcoholic content: 12% Vol.
Serving: Its acidity makes it an ideal accompaniment for
fish and seafood dishes, vegetables and seaweed. Serving temperature
10º/12º C.
Description: Straw-coloured yellow with greenish tinges.
Slightly sparkling, making it livelier in the glass. Medium
high intensity, abundant primary aromas, persistent reminder of
fresh, recently cut grapes. With golden apple, pineapple, medlar
aromas and something of aniseed and liquorice. Long, fresh, suggestive
and well structured, it denotes a great balance despite its youth.
Clean nose and a long finish. |
